The School of Worship & Prayer.
The ‘School of Worship and Prayer’ (SWAP), is a YWAM school offered at YWAM Toowoomba. This school is 3 months of lectures, with an optional outreach. I did my SWAP from July to October of last year.
It had been on my heart for a while to do this school. I’d always loved and been fascinated with music, and I’d been eager to take a deeper dive into the power of prayer.
God grew me and got me out of my comfort zone through this school. We had topics such as ‘The Fear of God’, songwriting and music theory, ‘Sustaining a Life With God’, a week devoted to reading the Psalms, and so many more impactful subjects.
We also got the opportunity to write and develop a song, that reflected what God had been speaking to us and teaching us throughout the school. We were able to showcase these songs to our wider YWAM community here in Toowoomba.
I was able to raise the funds needed for this school though many of my supporters, and in large donations given from beloved friends and family. Doing what I do isn’t possible without you guys and your support of me; it is through your prayers and in your seeds of donations, so I wanted to say a huge “thank you”.
All in all, doing The School of Worship and Prayer was a pivotal moment for me, though there were some personal stretching points (as there usually is), I grew deeper dependancy on God and learnt to trust Him with the deep desires of my heart and in the calling He has put on my life.
